일리노이 대학 동아시아학과(Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures)에서 2022년 봄 학기부터 한국어 수업을 가르칠 대학원생 조교 선생님을 찾고 있습니다. 박사 학위 과정에 있으시거나 석사 학위일 경우 LAS 단과 대학에 속해 있는 프로그램에서 학위를 하고 계시거나 봄 학기에 시작하실 분들에 한해 지원이 가능합니다.

Teaching Assistant position in the Korean Language Program
The Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) invites applications for a teaching assistant (TA) position in the Korean language program for SP22 and AY 2021-2022. The appointment will be made semester by semester at the minimum of 33% up to 41% and is renewable, contingent upon his/her teaching performance and funding availability.
• Applicants must be a graduate student in a master’s program under LAS or in Ph D programs at UIUC. Students pursuing a master’s degree in other colleges are welcome to apply but priorities will be given to those in LAS or in Ph D programs.
• Applicants must have native or near native level fluency in Korean and native or near native English proficiency.
• All teaching assistants whose native language is not English need to provide a qualifying score of the TOEFL iBT, iELTS, or the English Proficiency Interview (EPI) to be considered for a teaching assistantship in spring 2022.
• Experience in teaching in higher education is highly desirable.
The positions will begin January 1, 2022 and extend to May 15, 2022. The applicant must be available prior to the beginning of the fall and spring terms for the orientation and class preparation.
Duties and responsibilities of a Korean TA are as follows:
• Teach a Korean language course (4 or 5 days a week)
• Grade assignments, quizzes and exams
• Attend bi-weekly TA meetings
• Attend the Annual half-day Korean TA teaching workshop during the week of August 16
• Assist with the UIUC Korean placement test in August and in January

The review process will begin after the deadline and an appointment is expected to be conveyed to the successful candidate before the end of December. Otherwise, applications will be reviewed until the position is filled.
