NIH SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

  • Application Deadline: Saturday, February 16th, 2024 | 12:00 p.m.
  • Information Session Registration Links:
  • The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Summer Internship Program (SIP) will open its applications in mid-November. 
  •  These are full-time research positions within one of the NIH Institutes and Centers (IC) in the NIH Intramural Research Program. Research groups are located on all NIH campuses, including the main campus in Bethesda, MD.
  • Summer interns work in a research group directed by a Principal Investigator (PI). They offer research opportunities in the biomedical, behavioral, and social sciences with opportunities to explore basic, translational, and clinical research. Students interested in biology, engineering, epidemiology, psychology, mathematics, chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, nursing, physics, computer science, bioinformatics, and other health-related fields are invited to apply.

2024 Spring Break Media Tour in Chicago 

  • Application Deadline: Wednesday, November 8th
  • Event Date: Sunday, March 10th & Tuesday, March 12th
  • Join College of Media faculty members Victor Font and Margaret Ng and students from all College of Media majors on the 2024 Spring Break Media Tour.
  • The cost will be $750, which includes lodging, meals, transportation during the media tour and to and from Champaign (if desired), site visits, cultural events, and networking opportunities.
  • The tour will feature site visits with University of Illinois alumni working in fields across the media industry, including in advertising agencies, news organizations, film studios, public relations, sports and entertainment media, corporate communication, non-profits, and more! There will also be special events for the evenings, such as a networking dinner with our Alumni Leadership Council and College of Media Chicago Alumni Group and a special-access cultural event.
