• The Undergraduate Research Symposium is the signature event of Undergraduate Research Week (April 21 - 27), which brings together students, faculty, and staff from all disciplines at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, as well as the public to learn more about undergraduate research and its potential to change the world. 
• Throughout the day, students will present their research through poster presentations, talks, creative performances, exhibits, and demonstrations and interact with campus community members and the public.

ILLINOIS UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH AMBASSADORS (IURA) PROGRAM

• Application deadline: Monday, March 18th
• The Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) is looking for motivated and personable undergraduate students in all majors who are excited to introduce and support peers through the Illinois research experience. 
• This application is for the 24/25 academic year. Students will dedicate 5 hours in the Spring 2024 semester to training and assisting with the Undergraduate Research Symposium. Ambassadors will then be expected to work 30 hours per semester for Fall 2024 and Spring 2025. 
• IURAs are a collaborative cohort of accomplished and experienced students at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Ambassadors will promote undergraduate research on the UIUC campus and help OUR develop and maintain student-focused programs that represent UIUC’s diverse array of disciplines

UIUC RESEARCH SUPPORT GRANT FOR MENTORED RESEARCH

• Application deadline: Monday, March 11th 
• The Illinois Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) Research Support Grant (RSG) provides funding for faculty/staff mentored research or creative projects from all disciplines. 
• This includes research projects both on- and off-campus. Students, with the support of their mentors, can apply for awards of up to $2,000 to cover research travel costs, living expenses incurred during academic breaks (i.e., winter break and summer terms, NOT regular semester living expenses), and materials, equipment, supplies, or other ancillary costs. 
• Materials, equipment, and supplies purchased shall remain the property of the University of Illinois following the completion of the project.
