Google PhD Fellowships for Students in Computer Science & Related Fields

  • Application Deadline: Friday, April 26th
  • Google offers fellowships to PhD students in computer science and related fields
  • The fellowship offers two years of support and provides a $35K annual stipend, coverage of tuition & fees, and access to a Google research mentor
  • Applicants must complete all graduate coursework by August 2024
  • Students must be nominated by their department, & departments may nominate two students each

MS IN HEALTH TECHNOLOGY

  • Application Due: Monday, April 15th
  • Do you want to work in the healthcare field? Do you want to improve the design of technology that supports the health and well-being of individuals? Our one-year, in-person MS in Health Technology program will help you build these skills! Highlights of our program include customizable electives, a capstone project, and small cohorts.  
  • Our graduates have taken roles as UI/UX Designers, Product Managers, Human Factors Engineers and more within healthcare companies, Fortune 500 companies, government organizations, and start-ups earning between $80,000-$115,000, according to Glassdoor.  
  • All majors are welcome to apply to our STEM-designated program. All admitted students receive a scholarship or fellowship

UIUC MRL MATERIALS CHARACTERIZATION WORKSHOP

  • Applications Due: Tuesday, April 30th
  • Event date:  Tuesday, June 4th & Wednesday, June 5th
  • Location: Materials Research Laboratory (MRL), University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign
  • Practical tutorials are given by MRL scientists covering mainstream characterization techniques
  • Presentations and instrument demonstrations at a level suitable for both novice and experienced researchers
  • Registration costs $80

SUMMER 2024 INTERNSHIP PROJECTS: IT OR COMPUTATIONAL SCIENCE TRACKS

  • Applications Due: Monday, April 15th
  • Internship Dates: Saturday, June 15th ~ Wednesday, July 31st
  • IT projects will focus on using Python, Java or other programming languages for interesting applications such as in cryptography or in global data trend evaluations. Computational science projects will utilize molecular modeling and drug design methods for biological or medicinal applications (cancer and other diseases).
  • Registration Fee: $60 (Waived for low income students)
  • Tuition: $500 (Stipends up to $2500 for undergraduates and 100% Scholarships are available, waived for undergraduate students)
  • Students should expect to work 3-5 hours per day Monday-Friday (professors set their own schedule/frequency of their Zoom meetings)
